Paye Complete Conservation Works at Pevensey Castle

Paye have a proud history of working on some of our most historic castles and structures.

Take a look at our video detailing our work at Pevensey Castle for English Heritage which has featured heavily in the local news agenda, on both ITV Meridian and BBC South East. A multi-phase project to avoid the colder temperatures, Phase I concentrated on the Roman boundary walls last year and Phase II (this year) focused on the Medieval Bailey.

Vegetation had taken a stronghold around the ruin and in places deep root systems penetrated the masonry threatening to cause irreversible damage. This project then required a cautious approach to repair using injection grouting, lime mortar consolidation and localised re-bedding and repointing of the stone.
