The Blossom Street development sits on the edge of the Spitalfields Conservation Area and is an eclectic mix of London comprising Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian shop buildings and warehouses.
The project was designed in conjunction with four architectural practices each designing a part of the scheme under the overall AHMM masterplan.
The work included the careful dismantle and reconstruction of the at risk Georgian shopfront and façade which included the tuck pointing of the brickwork and recreation of the moulded profiles using traditional stucco rendering techniques.
Where possible the original bricks were cleaned and sorted for reuse supplemented by reclaimed bricks carefully selected to replicate the period correct appearance of the brick for each building.
