The National Police Memorial was unveiled by Her Majesty The Queen, on the corner of The Mall and Horse Guards. Conceived by Michael Winner, founder and chairman of the Police Memorial Trust, designed by Lord Norman Foster and clad in Belfast Black Granite by Paye.

The Main Contractor, Bovis Lend Lease, were set the task of carrying out the works to an existing London Underground ventilation shaft, which could not be removed. The specification included supplying and installing two secret doors clad in granite, the carving of the police crest into the granite face and the supply and installation of the Portland Stone and Granite paving.

Carried out over a seven-month period the space is a beautiful and appropriate memorial to all those policemen and women who have given their lives in service. We are proud to have been involved in this project.
