The Grade II listed National Theatre is a complex made up of three theatres that begun construction in 1969, the first opening for performances in 1976.

As part of an extensive and far reaching transformation project to improve its facilities and services, Paye completed cleaning and conservation repairs to this unique concrete landmark.

Localised cleaning was undertaken to remove rust staining, repair of the boardmarked concrete was completed following very detailed exemplar trials; to match the exposed shuttered finish which is a rather unique feature of this building.

Two apprentices were trained during the contract period and were retained by the theatre maintenance team following the contract completion for future works.
