Design Manager
Location: London (office and site-based)
Employment type: Full-time, permanent

About the role
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Design Manager to join our team. This role is central to the coordination and delivery of design across our projects, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Reporting to the Head of Design and Construction Director, you’ll oversee design management activities from tender stage through to completion, ensuring programmes, responsibilities, and compliance are all on track. You’ll be a key link between project stakeholders and an ambassador for our standards of quality, collaboration, and professionalism.
Key responsibilities
• Lead and manage the design process across multiple projects, ensuring designs are delivered on time and to specification.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve design issues.
• Develop and maintain design programmes, design responsibility matrices, and technical submittals.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier inputs, including tendering and appointments.
• Ensure design output meets compliance, quality, and health & safety requirements.
• Support the Head of Design with departmental processes and continuous improvement.
• Represent the business professionally at meetings and build positive relationships across the supply chain.
What we’re looking for
• Proven experience as a Design Manager (or similar role) within construction, façade, or specialist subcontracting environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of stonework, cladding, façades, and associated construction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret contracts, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills – both internally and with external stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, quality, and programme.
• Organised, disciplined, and able to lead by example.

You will get real hands on experience, supported and developed through a professional mentorship from the best in the industry.
